FineWinePress.com and Bettanedesseauve.com have collaborated to produce a supplement for the International Herald Tribune which will be published on Saturday 30 June, 2006. The supplement entitled Wine Trails will be available from all good newsagents across Europe. The contents include: châteaux and domains, guest rooms, hotels, restaurants and essential addresses — the best in wine tourism in Bordeaux, Champagne, Burgundy and Rhône Valley, Tuscany, Napa Valley and Sonoma. The supplement was produced in conjunction with Editorial & Régie, Paris.
The Supplement is the first in the English language under this cooperation and another is due to follow this year with more planned for 2007. Supplements have already appeared for Le Monde newspaper with a new one due out at the end of June 2006.
The publisher of Fine Wine, Fabian Cobb, had this to say about the venture: “magazine publishers in Europe (particularly in the UK) have a hard time selling magazines on wine to the consumer. Our aim is to offer trustworthy information presented in a lively and enthusiastic style just at the moment when a wine lover has the need of advice and clarification. This is our motivation behind developing these supplements with these highly targetted magazines and newspapers around the world – all especially selected by us. Each supplement permits us to transmit to a carefully identified public our passion about wine at the moment they will be actively in the market seeking to make choices about which wines to buy.”
