Australian Wine Exports for Year ending June 2006

The Australian Wine and Brandy Corporation’s latest Wine Export Approval Report for the year ending June 2006 has just been published.

Highlights:

- Record volume with a further 12% increase in shipments to 738 million litres

- Price pressures continue with average price per litre declining 5% to $A3.80

- Bulk shipments dominate export growth, accounting for 87% of the growth in volume for 2005-06

- UK and US remain our number one and two wine export markets

- Exports to Canada slow but still record overall growth of 16% for the year

- China and Sweden were the key contributors to growth in 2005-06.
