William A. Terlato, President and CEO of Terlato Wine Group (TWG), recently announced the appointment of Michael J. Graham to the position of Chief Financial Officer, aligning the company’s management team to pursue an aggressive growth strategy in the expanding luxury wine market.
“Mike Graham is a seasoned financial executive with more than 20 years of diverse, cross-functional experience and a history of success at small, mid-cap and Fortune 100 companies,” said Terlato. “We welcome Mike to our team, and look forward to working together with him as we build on our company’s successes and strengthen our position as the “leader in luxury wines.”
Graham’s appointment brings TWG’s management team leverage on two fronts: adding a proven executive who will focus exclusively on financial operations, while allowing John Scribner, Senior Vice President and General Counsel, to focus on managing the company’s legal, tax and compliance groups. Scribner, a trusted personal, financial and legal advisor to the Terlato family for 28 years, will also play an expanded role in collaborating with the family to identify acquisition targets that complement the organization’s renowned luxury portfolio.
Graham joins TWG from R.R. Donnelley, where he served as Senior Vice President and Controller. At Donnelley, a publicly traded print and print-related services provider with $9 billion in sales, he managed a team of 110 professionals, overseeing a range of functions including corporate and SEC accounting, corporate planning and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. Graham’s large-company experience also includes serving as Vice President and Controller of Sears, Roebuck and Co., and as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President at Aegis Communications Group. Graham also progressed through several senior financial positions during seven years at Quaker Oats Company.
Prior to that, at Wellbridge Company, the nation’s third largest owner and operator of athletic clubs, Graham’s financial leadership helped grow the company through an aggressive, acquisition-focused growth stage.
Graham started his career at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, where he was an audit manager for several of PWC’s largest Chicago office consumer products clients. He holds an M.B.A. in finance from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, a B.S. in accounting (magna cum laude) from DePaul University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
