Proposed Establishment of the Swan Creek Viticultural Area (2005R–414P)
AGENCY: Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau, Treasury.
ACTION: Notice of proposed rulemaking.

SUMMARY: The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau proposes to establish the 96,000-acre Swan Creek viticultural area in Wilkes, Yadkin, and Iredell Counties, North Carolina. We designate viticultural areas to allow vintners to better describe the origin of their wines and to allow consumers to better identify wines they may purchase.

They invite comments on this proposed addition to their regulations.
DATES: They must receive written comments on or before November 13, 2006.
