Cork Supply USA recently appointed Dr. Carlos Macku as their new director of technical services to head up CSU research projects.

Dr. Macku holds a doctorate in agricultural and environmental chemistry from the University of California at Davis, as well as a Master of Science in food science and technology.

Before joining CSU, Dr. Macku held research positions at some of the top food manufacturers in the nation, including Nabisco, Inc., A.M. Todd Co., and Symrise, Inc., the third largest flavor and fragrance company in the world.

CSU has operated since 1981 and is a member of the Cork Supply Group, with operations in Europe, North and South America, Australia and South Africa. Besides owning state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Portugal, the Group also has five forest managers in Portugal who work directly with cork forest growers to ensure that quality is maintained literally from the forest to the bottle. “In recent years, Cork Supply has expanded its umbrella to encompass Nomacorc synthetic closures, Rivercap premium tin capsules, SAVin screwcaps amongst others.
