French Wines is increasing its commitment to the UK consumer with a double-dose of consumer focused activity this autumn: first through French Wines Week (9-15 October) and then at the Wine Show, London (26-29 October).
French Wines Week is a seven day celebration of the quality and diversity offered by the wine regions of France. The key message is that the sheer range of French wines available in the UK guarantees there’s a French wine out there to suit everyone, whatever the budget or occasion. Consumers will be given guidelines as to where in France to find their favourite grape varieties and a free pocket guide is being created containing this information. The activity is media led and will incorporate coverage and competitions in the press, on the radio, through the internet and possibly on television as well. More information will be available shortly at www.frenchwinesweek.com.
French Wines is also the largest exhibitor at this year’s Wine Show, taking place at the Business Design Centre in Islington, London. The French Wines Experience, which will take up a quarter of the Gallery level at the venue, will feature a series of fun lifestyle zones in which visitors can sample a wide range of wines from across France to match a variety of themes, including: nights in; nights out; dinner parties; celebrations; outdoor living; Christmas.
Charles Collard, managing director of Sopexa UK, said:
“The key objective is to communicate with the consumer in a relevant and modern way, in order to demonstrate the accessibility and range of wines available from France, as well as the overall quality. By giving a few key pointers about which grape varieties match which regions of France, we hope to open up a whole new world to many consumers, and with such a great selection of wines on show at the Wine Show it’s an ideal opportunity to put French wines to the test!”
