Co Dinn promoted to Director of Winemaking at Hogue Cellars

Hogue Cellars (www.hoguecellars.com) recently announced that it has promoted Co Dinn to Director of Winemaking. Dinn, who has been with Hogue Cellars since 1996, will be responsible for leading the Hogue winemaking team and will focus on continuing the exceptional practices that have made Hogue Cellars a leader in the dynamic Washington wine industry. Dinn replaces David Forsyth, who left the winery in February to pursue other opportunities.

“We’re thrilled to have Co lead the next generation of winemaking at Hogue Cellars,” said Glenn Coogan, Vice President, Northwest Operations, Icon Estates, Constellation Wines U.S. “Co has been instrumental in the winery’s growth and quality improvements over the last decade. We look forward to him taking the lead for all winemaking operations and continuing the Hogue legacy of pioneering in a world-class growing region that captures the fresh fruit flavors of Washington.”
Prior to joining Hogue in 1996, Dinn’s winemaking experience started in 1989 as a crush cellar worker for Sterling Vineyards in the Napa Valley. Dinn returned to Sterling for the following harvest, worked in the Sterling lab in 1991, and then joined nearby Trefethen Vineyards as a crush intern and later an enologist. Dinn earned his Master’s Degree in Enology at UC Davis in 1995 and then joined Hogue in April 1996. Since then, he has played a vital role in winemaking and winery operations.

Founded by Mike and Gary Hogue in 1982, The Hogue Cellars is in the heart of Washington State’s wine country located in Yakima Valley - one of the state’s premier grape growing appellations. Centrally located in Prosser, WA, the winery is a state-of-the-art facility that sources the highest quality fruit from Washington’s best vineyards and appellations. In addition to its Hogue line, which is consistently recognized for outstanding quality at $10 and under, the winery also produces Genesis by Hogue Cellars, an ultra-premium offering featuring Washington’s keynote varietals and the highly regarded, limited-production Reserve tier. Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, The Hogue Cellars stands as one of Washington’s most established and renowned wineries.
