The future of Australia’s wine sector will be outlined in a major media
briefing this Wednesday (May 2) in Sydney.
A bold new industry strategy to tackle global competition, industry
structure, research and development and environmental issues, including
climate change, will be launched at the briefing and its impact on
individual wine businesses outlined.
The Wine Australia: Directions to 2025 strategy - a joint initiative of
the Australian Wine and Brandy Corporation (AWBC) and the Winemakers’
Federation of Australia (WFA) - is the sector’s most significant
blueprint in more than a decade. It will be launched by McWilliam’s
Wines deputy chairman, Kevin McLintock, who is chairman of the
high-level Directions taskforce.
