Implications of global climate change, securing future water supplies, new wine styles and how to better understand ‘Generation Y’ consumers are just some of the challenging topics to be discussed during a major
four-day wine industry conference, starting this Sunday in Adelaide.
The 13th Australian Wine Industry Technical Conference (AWITC) has attracted over 1600 delegates from around the world to the Adelaide Convention Centre to hear 36 Australian speakers and 15 international guest speakers.
Conference chairman Professor Sakkie Pretorius says the event is an ideal opportunity for the Australian wine sector to share innovative ideas and hear about important technical advances in grape and wine production as well as benefit from the latest consumer insights.
A keynote speaker on Day 1 (Sunday, July 29) will be the Hon. Karlene Maywald, MP, South Australian Minister for the River Murray, who will discuss water security issues.
