Enotria World Wine has announced the success of its New World producers in the International Wine and Spirit Competition 2007. With 53 Medals for Gold, Silver and Bronze, of which 16 wines won the title Best in Class, this is the best year yet for the New World at Enotria.
Australia ruled the day, as Peter Lehmann Wines collected 3 Gold Medals and 2 Best in Classes, and was short listed for the “Australian Producer of the Year” Award. Also short listed for the same Award is the Rathbone Wine Group who won an impressive 4 Gold Medals and 4 Best in Class Awards for the wineries Yering Station, Mount Langi Ghiran, The Parker Coonawarra Estate and Xanadu. Chilean wines were not awarded any Gold Medals this year, but MontGras did win 5 Silver and 5 Silver and Best in Class Medals
for the brands De Gras, MontGras, Ninquen and Soleus. MontGras is short listed for the Award Chilean Producer of the Year. Other highlights include the Trophy for a Single Estate Wine, won by Hess Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon 2004 and a Gold Medal for the South African winery, Thelema for their Cabernet Sauvignon 2004.

All three wineries short listed as Producer of the Year have won this Award in the past at the IWSC; Yering Station in 2004, MontGras in 2002 and Peter Lehmann twice in the last four years, last year winning both International Winemaker of the Year and Australian Producer of the Year.
