Brintex has appointed Nick Blair, wine director at Pernod Ricard UK, as the new chairman of the London International Wine Fair and Distil Advisory Board. Fiona Corfield from Palmer and Harvey also joins the Board this year.

With over 30 years experience in the drinks industry, Blair’s expertise covers wine and spirits in retail, production and distribution on global and domestic markets. Blair’s current role was created to manage the Pernod Ricard wine business in the UK, managing both the commercial and marketing functions related to wine across a portfolio of market leading brands.

Blair commented on his appointment: “As the world’s leading wine industry event, it is vital that the London International Wine Fair continues to meet the high standards expected from its broad international audience and it is the Advisory Board that challenges the organisers to ensure that these standards are met or exceeded.  It is an honour to work with such a talented group of industry professionals in trying to achieve this.”

Fiona Corfield spent over twenty years working at Sainsbury’s, before joining Palmer and Harvey in 2008 where she is now buyer for beers, wines and spirits. In her role as spirits buyer at Sainsbury’s, Fiona won a number of awards and successfully introduced the “Taste the Difference” range to the spirits category.
