Strong Euro boosts european growth for exhibition stands

The weak pound is proving to be a helping hand rather than a hindrance to those European companies hoping to exhibit at the London International Wine Fair (LIWF) and Distil this May. The strength of the Euro has become an added benefit to European exhibitors and it’s predicted to further increase the international growth and reach of both shows.
James Murray, show director, commented, “We are seeing an impressive intake
of international exhibitors for this year and while we are clearly delighted by this,
our main focus is always on the quality and calibre of the international producers
that the Fair attracts year on year. For the first time ever we’ve had booking
confirmation from exhibitors based in the Czech Republic and Croatia. While
we think this is a testament to the quality of the Fair we expect the weaker
pound will make travelling to London more attractive, in relative terms, to non-
UK exhibitors and visitors.”
Pavel Krska, managing director of the Czech Republic National Wine Centre
comments on his reasons for exhibiting this year, “London is an extremely
important market for us. No other event offers the same opportunity for us to
promote wines from the Czech Republic and meet with the most important world
business partners and media. Exhibiting at the London International Wine
Fair is something we’ve thought about doing for a while and visiting the show in
2008 confirmed the quality nature of this event and the necessity to exhibit. This
all comes at a time when the relative strength of the Euro against the £ Sterling
has reduced the cost of travelling and accommodation, which is just an added
bonus for us!”
The 2009 London International Wine Fair and Distil will take place between 12th
– 14th May in ExCeL, London. Visit the websites at www.londonwinefair.com and
